Courteney Cox

Courteney Cox is the American actress, director and producer. She is best known for her role in the TV show "Friends" and in one of the principal roles of the 'Scream' movie franchise. The actress was born in Birmingham, Alabama and developed an interest in acting as when she was a child. She studied the field of architecture at Mount Vernon College in Washington, DC But, she eventually left her studies to pursue an acting profession. She made her film debut with a role in 'Down Twisted'. She started gaining recognition after she played one of major roles in the horror slasher film "Scream'. The film was popular commercially and made eleven times its budget. The film was also praised by film's critics. She reprised her role in the 3 sequels to the movie. Her fame soared to highs when she took on the lead role in the popular sitcom 'Friends'. Her performance was recognized with numerous awards and nominations for the role. The show with a huge success, aired for ten years. The most recent projects includes a part as a co-star in the film drama 'Mothers and Daughters'. Some of the accolades won by her include those of the TV Guide Award as a result of her performance in "Friends," as well as the Golden Derby Award for her character in the TV program 'Cougartown'.
